Automated image creation via AI workflow

Dozens of images had to be created for a website. Instead of manual work, we built an n8n workflow that reads prompts, sends them to an image API and stores results in Google Cloud Storage.

Objective

Automate image creation for an entire website

Rebuilding a website required dozens of unique images: hero visuals, case study cards, industry illustrations and more. Creating these manually would be a time-consuming bottleneck in an otherwise fast, AI-driven project.

Manual image creation is slow, expensive and does not scale. Each image requires writing a prompt, generating, reviewing the output, downloading, renaming and placing it in the right folder. Multiply that by dozens of images and it becomes a serious time investment.

Our approach

Build a workflow that handles the full image pipeline

1

Generate prompts from content context

AI suggested prompts for each image based on page content and visual requirements. These prompts were collected in a structured file, ready for batch processing.

2

Build the n8n automation workflow

We built an n8n workflow that reads the file with all prompts, sends each prompt to the Freepik Mystic image API and stores the generated images in a Google Cloud Storage bucket. Fully automated, no manual intervention.

3

Place images with Claude Code

Once all images were generated and stored, Claude Code placed each image in the correct location within the Hugo project structure. Naming conventions and folder paths were handled automatically.

The result

Dozens of images created and placed without manual work

The full image pipeline ran without manual intervention. n8n proved to be one of the most effective workflow tools to quickly automate a process with minimal code. What would have taken days of manual work was completed in a single automated run.
